Our sleeping position says a lot about our personality and the degree of happiness in a relationship. There are also who points that sleeping without clothes can have health benefits. Some experts have long been advocating this idea.
There are several benefits linked to the getting into bed naked, if room temperature permitting, of course.
Fight aging: sleeping without clothing prevents the body from storing high temperatures and this favors the release of melatonin, a hormone that acts, among others, to prevent cellular aging. In the study a group of researchers found that sleep stimulates the action of this hormone in addition to other benefits, such as regulating blood pressure and heart rate.
Help for bones and muscles: avoiding excess body temperature also activates human growth hormone (HGH), which affects almost every cell in the body. It is essential for bone and muscle repair.
Helps control appetite or prevent overweight: temperature control also causes activation of metabolic hormones (avoiding weight gain) and those that control appetite.
Sleep better and deeper: studies link insomnia with a defective human body’s ability to regulate body temperature. Better sleep is directly related to a better quality of life.
Regulates cortisol levels: this hormone is best to avoid high temperatures and in the early hours regulates sleep, between 22-00 and 02-00. It calms down prolonged stress, which is flattering on blood pressure, the tendency to gain weight or premature aging.
Raises levels of oxytocin: This hormone is known as the ‘love hormone’. It is a hormone related to sexual patterns, maternal and paternal behavior that also acts as a neurotransmitter in the brain. Oxytocin counteracts stress and depression by combating the harmful effects of too high cortisol and lowers blood pressure.
